I saw a link the other day by the University of Arkansas Hope at Texarkana about training for Business, Computer Coding, Cybersecurity, and Computer and Information Science.
My degree is in Computer Science in which started work in Computer Coding/Programming in 1978 and did so for over 40 years.
So I thought I would share a few thoughts to the young of today, family and friends.
Of course, as a Minister of Jesus Christ, all things in my view begins at the spiritual level and then shows up in the natural to the degree we conform to the spiritual. And so I begin.

( 1 Timothy 5:8) But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
According to internet search average entry level salaries in Dallas, Texas for Computer Coding/Programming is on/about $70,000/year
For Cyber Security it is on/about $97,000/year
If you have not gotten into legal trouble, then don’t.
If you been in legal trouble you may not quality for cybersecurity but not sure as it depends on the nature of your trouble.
But Computer Coding may not be so problematic plus you can more easily start your own business as an Independent Contractor where you seek your own clients and background checks are usually not required for the business owner if you handle it right.
So stay out of further legal trouble if you been in it.
Anyone who has children is blessed beyond measure.
So get yourself better together to heighten the probability of you being around to help and warn your children to do better so they will have greater opportunity than you have/had.

Your generation has many more opportunities than mine and we have done pretty well; some of us have had a few set backs but recovery is wonderful.

Never think you owe a job or company not much loyalty to stay in a job that is insufficient for your long terms goal. A job can be a good start but should not be one that holds you down/back. For any company who truly cares about you would understand you wanting to better yourself. Always be strategic and wise in any move in life.
It is up to you all to close the large wealth gap between blacks and whites. Forget reparations in terms of cash payment. If it comes it will be a long time. But opportunities that you can leverage abound and will continue to abound. In the voice of the older black folks: ain’t nobody gonna turn us back.
Of course, there are other fields you may be interested in and training is out there, some free of charge. Also there are cities other than Texarkana and Dallas that offer such training and employment opportunities. Therefore, this is a just an example of what is available if one seeks and strives.
Also, for some investments instead of or in addition to work is a righteous option to earn. Investments are generally long term pay-offs but some pay off near term as well if one is so gifted and knowledgeable in investing.
Also, not everyone would reach for the 70K+ jobs. That is okay as long as one knows it is relatively rarely the lack of opportunity society provides.
So there is absolutely no legitimate excuse for you young folks including black folks not to do well in this society if you press your way righteously.
