In God We Trust Motto For Schools
Act 911, dated 4/5/2017, of the state of Arkansas mandates that the national motto of the United States “In God We Trust” be displayed above the US Flag in state public schools and state administrative agencies. No tax dollars is to be used for such purposes but only donations/contributions.
Great idea to honor God and remind adults and children of the realness and presence of God whether one knows or understands him or not. Hopefully, each would be at least stimulated to seek God on that person’s on time and schedule.
I suppose there will be lawsuits as there periodically are concerning the phrase “Under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance. The US Supreme Court has not to date struck down the constitutionality of the phrase “Under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance although it seemingly has not explicitly ruled on the constitutionality of the phrase in the Pledge of Allegiance. Hopefully, the court system will not one day rule against Act911.
The history of the phrase In God We Trust on money is discussed here by the US Department of Treasury.
A discussion of Present Eisenhower signing of the law on July 30, 1956 regarding the national motto may be found here.
